About the Opportunity

Sho-Pai Tribes is looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist based in Owyhee, Nevada, working a four-day schedule (Monday-Thursday) that gives you every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.

Reporting to the Clinical Director, you will play a pivotal role in delivering preventative oral healthcare, supporting clinical operations, and helping improve the long-term health and wellbeing of patients across the community.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for providing dental hygiene services, educating patients on oral health, supporting the Dentist with patient care, and maintaining high standards of clinical compliance and patient experience.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Screening patients during routine examinations and reviewing dental and medical histories
  • Performing preventative dental hygiene treatments, including cleanings and fluoride applications
  • Taking and reviewing dental x-rays to identify signs of oral disease and support treatment planning
  • Educating patients on oral health practices and recommending appropriate preventative care
  • Supporting the Dentist with patient care and clinical procedures as required
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with privacy, health, and safety regulations
  • Assisting with clinic operations, including scheduling coordination, inventory oversight, and workflow efficiency
  • Contributing to the development and updating of dental policies, procedures, and quality standards

About You

To qualify, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene and a current Dental Hygienist licence in good standing. Ideally, you will bring 2+ years of experience as a Dental Hygienist; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply, as Sho-Pai Tribes welcomes candidates who are eager to learn, grow, and become part of the community.

The following are required:

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience providing preventative dental care and oral health education across diverse patient populations
  • Experience taking and interpreting dental radiographs
  • Knowledge of dental clinic operations, patient scheduling, and inventory management
  • Experience maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of health, safety, privacy, and accreditation requirements within a dental setting
  • Experience contributing to the development and updating of policies and procedures
  • Understanding of budget processes and administrative responsibilities within a healthcare environment
  • Experience working with children and supporting anxious patients; additional pediatric oral health training or certifications, such as Smiles for Life (asset)

Compensation based on skills and experience is a competitive annual salary of $81,494.40 – $92,123.20, and a host of excellent benefits including:
