About the Opportunity
Three Streams is currently seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist for their team in Calgary!
Working within the Oil and Gas industry in an Engineering capacity, the Project Controls Specialist will have a hand in Cost Engineering, Project Planning and/or using Schedules.
More specifically, you will:
- Develop, implement, and provide progress reports on project schedules (using Primavera);
- Prepare cost estimates of labour, equipment, and materials based on POs, take-offs, drawings, specifications, and contract documents;
- Analyze schedule variances and recommend corrective actions;
- Collect and analyze data for all financial aspects of the project including equipment price escalation;
- Assist with developing project spending profile;
- Assist with the set up, tracking and analyzing of engineering man-hours and associated costs;
- Develop estimates in accordance with TSE's estimating procedures;
- Perform cost estimating and impact analysis of the Change Notices;
- Work with Engineering discipline leads to document estimates and provide supporting information including the estimate basis and assumptions;
- Support requests for information after estimates are closed;
- Present and review estimates with the Project Management Team;
- Prepare project Earned Value Reports; and
- Create and review tools and templates for the company.
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor or Technology degree in Engineering, Statistics, Accounting, Physical Science, or a related discipline.
To apply, you must have membership within AACE, along with 5 years of experience estimating plant and/or pipeline construction projects.
Along with strong aptitude in Microsoft, Excel, and Word, you must have a solid understanding of electronic cost control tools such as PRISM, Microsoft Office Project, PRIMAVERA, and also spreadsheets would be an asset.
In addition, you will be successful if you have experience in cost estimating, cost control, and change control.
It would be considered an asset if you have working knowledge of spreadsheets, as well as experience on large-scale oil/gas and petrochemical capital projects.
As a positive team player who possesses the potential to lead a team, you must be able to efficiently handle multiple projects at once. Coupled with great analyzing skills, you are a detail-oriented person with great communication skills.
