Saulteaux First Nation is a First Nation band government serving a membership of 1,100 people, approximately half of which reside in the community of Saulteaux. Saulteaux First Nation is governed by a Chief and 5 Band Councilors elected for 2 year terms. A portfolio system keeps leadership engaged in governance and some administration.
About Saulteaux
Saulteaux First Nation is located 43 kilometres north of North Battleford near Cochin and Jackfish Lake in Northern Saskatchewan. Land holdings are over 14,386.73 acres. Saulteaux is associated with BATC, Treaty #6 Territory.
Economic sources include tourism, agriculture, and forestry. Land use is primarily agricultural. Many lakes and parks offering camping, fishing and hunting are located in the area. Community Infrastructure includes a modern Health Center, N-8 School, Early Childhood Center, and Band Complex that houses Band Administration, a Community Culture and Recreation Center, and a Band Hall. An Elders Lodge and Water Treatment plant are also part of the core infrastructure.
About the Opportunity
Saulteaux First Nation has an exciting and rare opportunity for a talented Band Manager to lead their overall operations.
Reporting to the Chief and Council, the Band Manager is primarily responsible for the planning, accountability, supervision, leadership, and overall operation of the Saulteaux First Nations.
The successful candidate will have a university degree in administration or business. You will possess a minimum of five years management experience with demonstrated abilities in leadership, planning, and accountability. You will have demonstrated the ability to handle budgets, human, and capital resources.
In addition, you will have knowledge of human resource management, financial, and accountability processes, as well as corporate planning. You will have the ability to develop and sustain financial activity reporting. Knowledge of federal funding programs would be an asset.
About the Benefits
The successful candidate will enjoy attractive remuneration around $55,000 to $75,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
